Gwen

Gwen is the mother of Alyssa Foley and the ex-wife of Leslie Foley. She is currently getting a divorce from her second husband, Tony.  She and Alyssa have a rough relationship due to her remarriage and twin babies. She is not close to Alyssa and has conflicted feelings about Tony's attitude towards her eldest. Gwen enjoys her privileged lifestyle, therefore she lets most stuff slide. One example is when Tony doesn't allow her to speak to Alyssa when she calls.  After Alyssa returns home, Gwen goes through a sort of mental breakdown as people "talk" about Alyssa and she is divorcing Tony. Gwen doesn't like James, blaming him for what happened on his and Alyssa's road trip. She tells him that he "didn't mean to but... ruined her life". He takes this poorly, especially after she forces him to write a letter to her, forcing him to break up. She does not seem to care that Alyssa believed the letter was true, thinking she did what was best for her.  She takes Alyssa and the twins to her sister's house where they move in. 

 Gwen seems to be thrilled that Alyssa wants to get married, perhaps hoping her daughter's relationship turns out better than her own. She takes her to get her dress, plans the wedding, and even walks her down the aisle in a sweet mother-daughter moment.  Gwen is portrayed by Christine Bottomley.
